Many residents are frustrated and feel overwhelmed by the frequent flooding, especially after heavy rains. Some say entire streets, houses, and businesses have been submerged.

Some believe illegal structures and construction encroaching on drainage channels — especially along Systems 156, 157, 44, 44A, and 46 — are major reasons why flooding keeps getting worse.

There’s anxiety about how sudden some of the demolitions appear. People say they weren’t adequately informed or compensated, even though government says notices had been sent.
