The humanitarian organization CARE has issued a statement saying what's happening in Gaza now is beyond what it envisioned as the worst case scenario.
The Israeli military says its ground forces carried out an operation inside the Gaza Strip, attacking multiple Hamas targets before withdrawing.
The Israeli Air Force (IAF) said it attacked "over 250 targets" belonging to the Hamas Islamist militant group in the Gaza Strip over the past day.
In a post on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, the IAF said its fighter aircraft struck what it called "terrorist infrastructure," tunnel shafts and rocket launchers, which it said was situated in "a civilian environment."
Israel has been bombarding the Palestinian territory, with the military saying it is targeting Hamas. The persistent airstrikes have worsened the humanitarian situation for more than 2 million residents in the Gaza Strip.
The action taken against Hamas has been in response to the large-scale terror attack the group launched on southern Israel on October 7.

Landlords in West of England are offering free rent in return for sex, an investigation from BBC Inside Out West has found.
The Ministry of Justice says this is illegal and even placing an advert is breaking the law and could result in a seven year jail term.

British authorities failed to act on multiple official warnings about a website promoting suicide that has been connected to at least 50 UK deaths, the BBC has found.
The online forum, which we are not naming, is easily accessible to anyone on the open web, including children.
The BBC investigation identified multiple warnings to government by coroners and a number of police investigations, but the forum still remains active.
Families of the dead, the youngest just 17, say the failure to act led to more avoidable deaths. They are demanding an inquiry.
They're speaking out, despite the risks others may find the forum, because they want action now to shut it down and prevent deaths in the future.

Israel has confirmed that two more hostages in Gaza have been released by Hamas, bringing the number freed so far to four.
The two women have been named as Nurit Cooper, 79, and Yocheved Lifschitz, 85.

Hamas has released two US hostages who were abducted during the Palestinian group's deadly raid on Israel.
Israel confirmed that mother and daughter Judith and Natalie Raanan had been handed over to them from Hamas at the Gaza border.
It follows a visit to Israel by the US President Joe Biden.
Hamas said the pair were freed for "humanitarian reasons".
They were the first captives released since the gunmen raided Israel on 7 October, killing 1,400 people and taking around 200 hostages.
More than 4,000 people have since been killed in Israeli air and artillery strikes in Gaza, according to Palestinian officials.

Israel Defence Forces spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari has accused Hamas of launching a "global media campaign to hide what really happened", following an explosion at a Gaza hospital.
He said the explosion was "caused by an Islamic Jihad rocket that was misfired", adding it is "impossible to know what happened as quickly as Hamas claimed they knew."

US President Joe Biden has arrived in Israel to express his solidarity and discuss war plans with its leaders.
The high-stakes trip has been upended by a blast at a crowded Gaza City hospital on Tuesday in which hundreds of people are feared to have died.
The blast, which Palestinian officials and the Israeli military have blamed on each other, further stoked tensions.
Biden had planned to visit Jordan to meet Arab leaders but this was cancelled after the explosion.

There’s been an Israeli air strike on the courtyard of al-Ahli al-Arabi hospital in Gaza City, says Salam Marouf, head of the government media office in the besieged coastal enclave.
“A new war crime has been committed by the Israeli occupation on the hospital, which housed hundreds of people fleeing their homes, as well as the sick and injured,” he said.
